Démon ibacm pomáhá snížit zátěž správy vyhledávání záznamů cest na velkých sítích InfiniBand poskytnutím implementace v uživatelském prostoru toho, co je funkčně podobné mezipaměti ARP. Použití ibacm, pokud je správně nakonfigurován, může snížit zátěž paketů SA velké IB skupiny z O(n^2) na O(n). Démon ibacm se spouští a normálně běží na pozadí, aplikace uživatelů o tomto démonovi nemusí vědět, dokud jejich aplikace používá librdmacm pro zpracování navázání/ukončení spojení.
