ClamAV-milter on suodatin sendmail(1)-sähköpostipalvelimelle. Se käyttää clamd(8):aan sisäänrakennettua sähköpostin skannausmoottoria. ClamAV-milter voi käyttää kuormantasausta ja vikasietoisia tekniikoita yhdistääkseen useampaan kuin yhteen clamd(8)-palvelimeen ja vaihtaa saumattomasti kuorman tasaamiseksi eri koneiden välillä sekä jatkaa virusten skannausta myös silloin, kun jokin palvelin kaatuu.
