Il demone ibacm aiuta a ridurre il carico di gestione delle ricerche dei record di percorso su grande fabric InfiniBand fornendo un’implementazione in user space di ciò che è funzionalmente simile a una cache ARP. L’uso di ibacm, se correttamente configurato, può ridurre il carico di pacchetti SA di un grande cluster IB da O(n^2) a O(n). Il demone ibacm viene avviato e normalmente viene eseguito in background; le applicazioni utente non devono conoscere questo demone purché la loro applicazione usino librdmacm per gestire l’apertura/chiusura delle connessioni. La libreria librdmacm sa come comunicare direttamente con il demone ibacm per recuperare i dati.
