Chrony는 Network Time Protocol (NTP)의 구현입니다. NTP 서버, 참조 클록(예: GPS 수신기), 그리고 손목시계와 키보드를 사용한 수동 입력으로 시스템 클록을 동기화할 수 있습니다. 또한 NTPv4 (RFC 5905) 서버 및 피어로 동작하여 네트워크의 다른 컴퓨터에 시간 서비스를 제공할 수 있습니다.
