Tvíundasamhæfur valkostur við Apache eininguna mod_fastcgi. Einingin útfærir skilvirka ferlalaugastjórnun fyrir köll á ytri CGI forrit. Laug CGI forrita er kortlögð á laug apache workers þannig að alltaf er vegið magn forrita sem bíða eftir beiðnum í lauginni. Til að hlaða einingunni inn í Apache, keyrðu skipunina "a2enmod fcgid" sem root. Sjá /etc/apache2/conf.d/mod_fcgid.conf og /usr/share/doc/packages/apache2-mod_fcgid fyrir stillingar.
