Questo modulo Python restituisce il nome del fuso orario IANA del fuso orario locale o un oggetto tzinfo con le informazioni sul fuso orario locale, su Unix e Windows. Questo modulo cerca di colmare una lacuna evidente nei moduli pytz e zoneinfo: non c'è modo di ottenere le informazioni sul fuso orario locale, a meno che non si conosca il nome zoneinfo, e su diverse distro Linux è difficile o impossibile da scoprire. Con tzlocal basta chiamare get_localzone() e si ottiene un oggetto tzinfo con le informazioni sul fuso orario locale. Su alcuni Unices non si riuscirà comunque a sapere qual è il nome del fuso orario, ma non serve quando si ha il file tzinfo. Tuttavia, se il nome del fuso orario è facilmente disponibile, verrà usato.
