Este es el conjunto de utilidades GNU shar. shar crea archivos shell a partir de muchos ficheros, preparándolos para su transmisión por servicios de correo electrónico. Use unshar para desempaquetar los archivos shell tras su recepción. uuencode prepara un fichero para su transmisión por un canal electrónico que ignora o de otro modo altera el octavo bit (bit de orden superior) de los bytes. uudecode realiza la transformación inversa.
