Beispiel-Clients für gpsd

xgps ist ein einfacher Testclient für gpsd mit einer X-Oberfläche. Er zeigt aktuelle GPS-Positions-/Zeit-/Geschwindigkeitsinformationen und (bei GPS-Geräten, die diese Funktion unterstützen) die Positionen erreichbarer Satelliten an. xgpsspeed ist ein Tachometer, der Positionsinformationen vom GPS verwendet. Er akzeptiert eine Option -h und optionales Argument wie gps, oder eine Option -v, um die Paketversion auszugeben und zu beenden. Zusätzlich akzeptiert er die Optionen -rv (reverse video) und -nc (needle color). cgps ähnelt xgps, jedoch ohne die bildliche Satellitenanzeige. Er kann auf einem seriellen Terminal oder Terminalemulator ausgeführt werden.
