Ferramenta de otimização DWARF e remoção de duplicados

dwz otimiza a informação de depuração DWARF contida em bibliotecas partilhadas e executáveis ELF quanto ao tamanho, substituindo a representação da informação DWARF por uma representação equivalente mais pequena sempre que possível, e reduzindo a quantidade de duplicação com técnicas do anexo E da norma DWARF — criando unidades de compilação (CUs) DW_TAG_partial_unit para informação duplicada e usando DW_TAG_imported_unit para a importar em cada CU que dela necessite. A ferramenta trata secções de depuração no formato DWARF de 32 bits das versões 2, 3 e 4 e extensões GNU sobre estas, embora o uso de DWARF 4 ou, no pior caso, DWARF 3 seja fortemente recomendado. Quando não se usa a opção -m (modo multifile), um snapshot GDB CVS (em breve 7.5) é suficiente; ao usar a opção -m, é necessário GDB de um branch git http://sources.redhat.com/git/?p=archer.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/archer-tromey-dwz-multifile .
