O objetivo do pacote savetrees é colocar o máximo de texto possível em cada página de um documento LaTeX. Admitidamente, isto torna o documento bem menos atrativo. Ainda assim, savetrees é uma forma simples de poupar papel ao imprimir rascunhos de um documento. Também pode ser útil ao tentar cumprir um requisito apertado de extensão em páginas para submissão a uma conferência ou revista.
