Endless OS

Endless OS is developed for households, schools, and communities where connectivity may be limited. It can ship offline learning content and uses an OSTree-managed, read-only base rather than a conventional mutable root filesystem. Most separately installed desktop applications use Flatpak, while built-in components and web apps mean that 'Flatpak only' is too broad a description of the complete system. Atomic base updates reduce some classes of update failure, but applications, user data, extensions, and deployment policy still need their own security and recovery controls. The desktop adapts GNOME around an app-oriented experience. An OpenFactory browser VM can demonstrate the interface and packaged content; consult Endless OS deployment documentation for supported lifecycle and offline-update requirements.
