A flaw was found in the Model Context Protocol (MCP) Python SDK. Stateful streamable HTTP servers fail to enforce idle session expiration or limits on active sessions, preventing terminated or rejected requests from releasing their resources. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by repeatedly sending requests to accumulate unreleased session entries in memory, ultimately causing a Denial of Service (DoS) due to memory exhaustion. mcp: mcp: Denial of Service via session memory exhaustion in streamable HTTP servers The CVSS score(s) listed for this vulnerability do not reflect the associated product's status, and are included for informational purposes to better understand the severity of this vulnerability.
