About this system

What the record says about the HP Z2 Tower G1i, in its own words.

The Z2 is the smallest of HP's tower workstations and the one most people actually need. It takes a full height graphics card and a power supply sized for one, and HP supports the machine as a whole rather than as parts.

This is the Core Ultra 5 235 configuration with 16 GB and a 512 GB drive. It suits somebody moving off an ordinary desktop onto something that will take a real GPU later, without paying for the GPU today.

Canonical certifies the Z2 Tower G1i. It is ordered through the channel when you order it, so nothing here is held in stock.

Evidence

Runs the OS you build

Each row is a recorded observation, not a vendor promise. The evidence level says how far that observation was taken.

Not a vendor claim. The hardware is ordinary x86_64 and this image is expected to run on it. Build it and boot it in a test machine before you order.

Preinstalled, and certified as well. HP sells the Z2 Tower G1i with Linux already installed, and Canonical certifies the model against Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Confirm the Linux preload option on the configuration you want when you order, because it is a configurator choice rather than the default.
