About this system

What the record says about the Radxa ROCK 5C, in its own words.

The ROCK 5C is an RK3588S board with 8 GB of memory: the same class of chip as the larger ROCK 5 boards in the cheaper single board layout.

The reason to pick this one out of a crowded RK3588 field is support. Armbian rates it Platinum, their top tier, which means somebody is maintaining a current kernel and userland for it rather than leaving you on a vendor image built two years ago and never touched again. On ARM boards that is the difference between a machine you can keep patched and one you cannot.

OpenFactory does not build images for this board today, so it runs Armbian's Debian and Ubuntu builds rather than one you built here. Its memory is soldered, which is why an x86 board with a memory socket is better value at the moment.

Evidence

Runs the OS you build

Each row is a recorded observation, not a vendor promise. The evidence level says how far that observation was taken.

No operating system observation is published for this system yet. You can still build an image on console.openfactory.tech and test it before you order.

Build the image you plan to run on console.openfactory.tech, boot it in a test machine there, and order this system once you have seen it work.
