Nuova implementazione dei comandi picture

Questo pacchetto è stato descritto nella 2ª edizione di 'LaTeX: A Document Preparation System', ma il team del progetto LaTeX ha rifiutato di produrre il pacchetto. Per molto tempo, LaTeX includeva un 'pict2e package' che produceva soltanto un messaggio di errore scusatorio. Il nuovo pacchetto estende l'ambiente picture esistente di LaTeX, usando la tecnica familiare (cf. i pacchetti graphics e color) dei file driver (al momento, sono disponibili driver per dvips, pdfTeX, LuaTeX, XeTeX, VTeX, dvipdfm e dvipdfmx). La documentazione del pacchetto contiene un buon numero di esempi d'uso, che mostrano dove le cose sono migliorate rispetto all'ambiente picture di LaTeX.
